About Luz Del Sol

Luz Del Sol Coffee is a concept inspired by the my home country of El Salvador. Luz Del Sol translates to “light from the sun.” I chose this name as an homage to the rich coffee culture of El Salvador and Latin America, where coffee is often enjoyed first thing in the morning, just as the sun begins to rise. It’s a ritual that brings people together and starts the day with warmth and intention.

My family and I immigrated to the U.S. when I was six years old, fleeing the violence and instability that affected El Salvador at the time. Despite the challenges and the negative stereotypes often associated with my country, I was raised to deeply love and appreciate my roots—especially through food and drink, like pupusas and coffee.

As a Latina immigrant, I know how intimidating it can be to find a sense of belonging in a place that feels unfamiliar—especially in spaces that don’t reflect your culture or experiences. Especially here in Atlanta, which is a melting pot of so many different cultures.

But everything changed when I started working as a barista. In the coffee world, I found connection. I met people from all walks of life—people who, on the surface, had nothing in common, yet bonded over a shared love of coffee and food. I fell in love with the craft, the culture, and the community it created.

I knew then that I wanted to pursue this further and share it through the lens of my own culture. And that’s how Luz Del Sol Coffee was born.

My mission is simple: to bring culture, community, and coffee together. I hope to create a space where people feel welcome, where stories are shared, and where the warmth of El Salvador can be felt in every cup.
